About Scott

Scott is running to represent Winterport, Searsport, Frankfort, and Swanville.

About

I grew up here in Winterport, and I remember when many of our neighbors worked at the nearby chicken processing plant or in shoemaking or canning sardines. Those decent family-sustaining jobs aren’t around anymore.

As an electrician by trade, I know offshore wind has the potential to replace all those lost jobs and bring even more. And not just any jobs, but good jobs that will pay union pay and benefits whether or not the worker is a union member. When I served our community in the Maine House, I passed a bill to make sure that almost all clean energy jobs that come to our state are good jobs. That bill has already resulted in pre-apprenticeship programs to make sure that Mainers who don’t normally benefit from construction booms get a good chance to take part in our clean energy future.

I’m excited about helping to bring a wind port to Searsport. Together we can chart our own clean energy future and bring new life to our local economy.

I currently serve on the local school board, RSU 22. I’ve been both a student and a parent in our local schools. In the legislature, I fought for state revenues to fully fund our schools. I will fight for fair taxation to make sure the state has the revenue it needs so that we don’t have to fund all of our school costs off of property taxes.

If you elect me to serve in the state House, that’s what I’ll work on. I’ll govern for ALL of us,

whether we’re young or old, Black or white, native or newcomer. No matter what we look like or where we come from, we want our families to have the freedom to drink clean water, breathe safe air, and live in healthy communities. Let’s join together to make Maine a better state for all of us. We need your voice with us as a voter on November 8th.
